marcusadam, yes, I have seen the article, actually gave me some valuable info on how to make the tractor when I get around to it

Here`s a small update on the trailer though. Roughly made the rear end of the tank which will still need a lot of work to be done, and mocked it up on the trailer along with a temporary rear bumper just to see how it all looks.

    Thanks for making me smarter!

Re: TV/Movie Cars V CBP "Model Royale" In Production!

Some progress on my OHMSS Cougar.  After I polished the body, I decided on giving it one more coat of paint to cover the edges and curves where I had polished the paint away.  I noticed a long dog hair embedded in the paint which resulted in my sanding the left front fender down to the primer.  Three coats of paint later resulted in this.

    Chassis assembly is complete.

    More to come.....

    A small review.....

I saw the latest Bond flick last night, Quantum Of Solace.  I was disappointed to say the least.  I have been a Bond fan since the series inception in 1962 and I have been hard pressed to get use to the title, I hated the theme song, one action scene running into another (no rest between scenes), no gadgets or Q, and I am finding it very difficult to believe Daniel Craig as James Bond.  He has neither the class or style nor the presence as Connery, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan, or Lasenby had in the previous films.  You can dress a pig in a tuxedo, but it's still a pig.  If the producers of the Bond series are trying to ruin their franchise, congratulations.....you have succeeded.  Just my

Mike, my hat is off to you for the job you did on that Riv...I'd have thrown that thing in the trash at first site. I salute your valient effort and determination to make it work. I think it turned out pretty awesome considering what you had to work with.

I'd like to join in on this build but I imagine the roles have all been cast by now.

    Awesome builds, everyone!!!

Outstanding work, everyone! Mike, the Due South Riv is a tribute to your skills and dedication: like many others here I would've never actually finished it.  Glad to hear that I'm not the only one with dog hair in his paint jobs.  Both Bond cars are coming along great, though.  I'm looking forward to seeing more of the Duel rig, it's a model that's on my "must build" list.

I've been away from the set for a bit thanks to first camera and then work-related issues, but I think I've remedied both.

Drack, you are welcomed to join the cast as we still have a few roles open for audition.  You in?

Guys, thanks all the kind comments re the Riv and congratulations to all of you who are posting the photos of your progress.

I've been having a little rest recently due to pressures of work (as some of you may know I work on a car magazine here in the UK and the run up to Christmas means deadlines turn from 4 weeks into 2 and a half weeks...) but I'm working out what my next build/s will be on this forum and will be debuting it/them soon!

I've got five or six candidates in my head so watch this space...

Re: TV/Movie Cars V CBP "Model Royale" In Production!

    Sure, i'm in...

Ok, the theme of my project goes like this:

The story deals with two would-be NASCAR hopefuls; the driver, Larry (Peter Fonda), and his mechanic, Deke (Adam Roarke), who successfully execute a supermarket heist to finance their jump into the big-time auto racing world, extorting $150,000 in cash from the supermarket manager (Roddy McDowall in an uncredited role) by holding his wife and daughter hostage.

In making their escape, they are confronted by Larry's one-night stand, Mary (Susan George), who convinces them to take her along for the ride (under the threat of her blowing the whistle on them both). After the heist is reported to the Sheriff, Captain Franklin (Vic Morrow) obsessively sets out to capture the trio in a dragnet, only to find his patrol cars woefully inadequate to catch Larry, Mary and Deke in a 440 equipped high-performance Citron Yellow 1969 Dodge Charger R/T.

The trio evades several patrol cars, a high-performance police interceptor, and even Captain Franklin himself in a Bell JetRanger helicopter, but finally colliding with a small freight train, in one of the most shocking (and now legendary) movie endings of all time.

The Movie: Dirty Mary and Crazy Larry - 1974
The Project: Revell '69 Dodge Charger R/T
    Color: Citron Yella/Curious Yellow (pc:GY3)
Extra Parts: Slotted mags from AMT '69 Corvair kit or MPC '74 Corvette kit.

Man, I'm going crazy trying to finalize the color of the DMCL Charger. My wife swears the car is Sublime/Lime Light Green and I am sure it is Citron Yella/Curious Yellow, lol.
My bud has a Sublime Charger and it is clearly, (in my opinion) too green to be the movie cars color.
In many scenes that car definately has a yellow tint to it.

Problem is, BOTH colors were available from '69 to '73, I'm going to have to order both colors and play with the sun a little bit I guess, lol. I can see it both ways, but I see far more yellow than I do green in that car.

Anyway, while I wait for the paints to arrive I began making the molds for my slotted mags. Neither the Corvair or the Vette wheels will work to MY satisfaction so I'm casting copies of the rims from the Tom Daniel Fast Buck kit. next I have to sand the vinyl top down to make it a hard top like I did when I built the General Lee *cough* years ago.

I'm pumped, this build is going to be a lot of fun.

Drack, the color is Citron Yella/ Curious Yellow.  There has been much discussion about the shade of color on the Forum in the past 2 years.  It is a yellow with a touch of green tint to it.  Try doing a search on DMCL Charger in the Muscle Car section.

     Oh ditto that!

The whole it's yellow it's / green debate comes up about once a year!

I always say it's Citron yellow. If you want any pointers about building the DMCL Charger feel free to ask me, I did one a in a heavily dented and damaged state (just pre-train) few years back.

So are you going to build the 69 with the air conditioning (and rear window decals) the non A/C '69, or the lone '68 Charger that was briefly used as a stunt car?

Someone was offering a DMCL decal set for a while too...

I know for sure that the color is GY3 Citron yella, so that's the one i'm going with.

I was going to paint the stripe on, but since i'm already ordering Keith Marks decals for my 1:1 replica Daytona project, i've added that decal sheet to my order.

Thanks y'all, time to get back to work.
