    1948 Chevy Barnette Ambulance

This started Life as a Galixie 48 Sedan Delivery, and a Jimmy Flintstone resin 48 Hears body.  The rear windows were cut out of the resin body,  The kit fraim was streached and a new rear interior built. Cot and all.  I used Krylon Sweet Cream over Krylon Burgandy red. Decals are Stevens International and trim was BMF.  Emergency lights are from the parts box...

WOW!! Very impressive. A beautiful and well built model. Very interesting subject matter, and creative execution. Very well done. This model must look stunning in person.

    CHRIS, I HATE YOU!

My Barnette is in the mail from STAR, should be getting it tomorrow! Now what am I going to build?

You did a fantastic job on that...I keep coming back to look at it to see if I can steal any ideas!

Nice work on producing a Barnette Chevy Ambulance.

    I have 3 WIP's . . .

    1. Stretching an AMT '40 Ford panel into a funeral home first call/service car.
    2. Kit bashing an AMT '36 Ford using '40 Ford panel body to build a Siebert built limousine style hearse. It may take two Ford panels together to get correct body length.
    3. Re-working the resin cast '59 Superior Cadillac Crown Royale landau style coach into a Eureka Cadillac conversion. I think Eureka from 1950-1964 had the best looking funeral cars. 1964 was the last year for USA Eureka production.
    4. Converting AMT's model "T" Ford Delivery wagon into a four column carved side herase.

    I'll post some progress later.

If it spells F-O-R-D then it must be a FORD. If it spells E-D-S-E-L then it must . . .

For those who like building professional cars here is a good link for photos and information . . .

    www.coachbuilt.com

    Scroll down to . . .

Professional Cars - includes Hearses, Ambulances, Limos, Funeral Cars, Limousines

Then click on professional car builder name, i.e. Eureka, Flxible, Henny, Superior, etc.

I especially like the 3-way (side-service) funeral coaches.

Your build looks like it should bring home some awards. Beautiful paint job and the body work is super.

That is one drop-dead gorgeous build. A unique subject, great colors, and very well executed.

The only hiccup I see is the one piece hood; my 1:1 '47 Fleetline had a two piece hood.
